Palet warrants all materials and workmanship in our cabinetry to be free of defects for the original purchaser at the initial site of installation when used in an indoor setting. Palet’s obligation covers defective components and any other components integrally associated with them. We proudly stand behind our quality products and offer our customers a Limited Warranty ("Warranty").
Palet limited warranty breakdown:
A limited lifetime warranty is provided for drawer glides, door hinges, and lift systems supplied in Palet cabinets by the original manufacturer, Blum, under normal use.
A three year warranty is provided on the material and workmanship in the construction of our cabinetry. Please find our warranty exclusions below.
Warranty coverage does not come into effect until all products and services are paid for in full.
Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not apply to any Products that have been damaged due to any of the following reasons:
IMPROPER INSTALLATION
This warranty becomes null and void if cabinets are altered in any way. Improper installation or alteration of supplied cabinets will not be covered by warranty. Improper installation of appliances resulting in damage to cabinetry and parts is the responsibility of the Purchaser and will not be eligible for warranty.
REGULAR USE
Damage from natural deterioration including normal wear and tear, are the responsibility of the purchaser.
DIFFERENT PURPOSE
Products used for purposes for which it is not designed or intended by Us.
OUTDOOR USE
Products installed or used outdoors.
ODD CASES
Products which have been subjected to improper handling, storage, testing, installation, assembly, maintenance or water leaks, carelessness, misuse, vandalism, handling abuse, negligence, accident, abnormal physical stress, or unauthorised modifications and or alterations.
COLOUR CHANGES
Colour changes due to sunlight, household cleaners, smoke and other environmental conditions may be apparent over time. These variations are considered to be the nature of the material in relation to their environmental exposure and are not covered under this warranty.
TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY CHANGES
There is no warranty coverage for warping, expansion or shrinking of parts resulting from improper temperature, moisture and/or humidity extremes (temperature outside the range of 10-29°C (50-85°F) and humidity outside the range of 30-55% are considered extreme).
BEYOND OUR CONTROL
Damaged by water, acts of nature (such as: fire, flood and other natural disasters) acts of God, or other external causes beyond our control.
CLEANING
Exhibiting any effects on the colour and/or integrity of the finish or appearance due to the use of abrasive cleaners, cleaners that contain chlorine, acidic cleaners, scuffing sponges or steel wool.
PAINTED FINISH STRESS LINES AND WARPING
Wood by nature undergoes periods of expansion and contraction while it adjusts to atmospheric conditions. As such, finish stress lines and warping may become visible on cabinets. Any such occurrence is not considered a defect.
FRONTS FOR INTEGRATED DISHWASHERS
Fronts for integrated dishwashers are excluded from warranty, as the hot steam from the dishwasher may cause the surface on the front to crack and damage over time.
STEAM AND EXTREME HEAT
Products placed within 24" of an electrical or gas stovetop (beside or above), or in areas where steam-producing appliances (e.g., kettle) are frequently used, will not be covered under warranty if the damage may be attributed to extreme heat or steam exposure.
Remedy
Palet has the right to determine if the product is repairable or replaceable and is limited to the repair or replacement of defective parts. In no event shall Palet pay for or be held liable for the cost of labor, installation, removal, shipping, and touch-up of the replacement products or for any other cost related to the replacement of products, all of which is the responsibility of the person making the claim.
If it is not commercially feasible to repair or replace a defective Product or Product component, We may refund the original price paid by You for the defective Product or Product component, or provide a credit towards a similar type of product sold by Us. Further, We reserve the right to modify or alter any Product design, specifications or materials without obligation to make similar changes to Products previously manufactured or sold by Us.
If a replacement or repair is needed and the material or the model required is not available, Palet reserves the right to provide a replacement similar to the original or of equal quality without any further liability.
Limitation of Liability
Our total liability shall under no circumstances exceed the actual amount paid by You for the defective product. Further, We shall not under any circumstances be liable for any consequential, indirect, incidental, special or punitive damages or losses (including lost profits), even if this Warranty is deemed to have failed of its essential purpose.
If you do not allow Palet to review the cabinet which is subject to the warranty claim you will invalidate the warranty in respect of that claim.
Any repaired or replacement cabinet parts shall be guaranteed on the terms of this warranty for the unexpired portion of the warranty period only.
Our warranty does not cover service calls to adjust moving components such as doors and drawers of the cabinets which may require adjustments from time to time and are typically caused by movement of the home and with extended use. These adjustments are part of the typical homeowner maintenance and if required, may be amended by the customer’s installer or contractor.
Obtaining Warranty
In order to make a claim under this Limited Warranty, the owner of the Product must notify Palet by contacting us at support@paletcabinets.com during the Warranty Period. Each claim for a warranty must include the name of the product, the order number, and photos and a description of the alleged failures. Palet will have no warranty obligations with respect to a Product that it deems, in its reasonable discretion, to be an Ineligible Product (defined above).
All hinges and drawer slides used in the manufacture of Palet products, as well as any other products which are not manufactured by Palet, even if they are sold by Palet, are guaranteed by their respective manufacturer. Please contact Blum regarding warranty for drawer slides, hinges and lifting systems: https://www.blum.com/ca/en/contact/warranty/.
Damage Claims Upon Delivery
Claims for damages to products arising from delivery must be reported via email and photograph on delivery day. Both the delivery agent and the customer are responsible for inspecting the products during delivery and noting any visible damages before the delivery agent departs.
Concealed damage is defined as damage found after cabinetry has been unpacked and delivery agent has departed. The customer has seven (7) days from the date of delivery, to report concealed damage. Furthermore, claims made with photos taken after installation will not be valid, as we cannot verify if any issues were caused during the installation process. We strongly recommend that customers inspect the product as soon as possible after delivery.
All damage claims are subject to the conditions outlined in the Remedy section.
In the event of confirmed delivery-related damage, Palet will make only one (1) replacement delivery for parts reported within the seven-day damage reporting window. Any further claims beyond this replacement delivery, or outside the reporting window, will not be accommodated.
Definition of Damage
“Damage” refers to any physical defect or noticeable imperfection in cabinetry components. This includes, but is not limited to: cracked panels, chipped edges (with a blemish diameter of 1/8" or greater), broken parts and hardware, misaligned doors or drawers that cannot be adjusted on-site, and scratches through the surface finish (longer than 1/2" in length). Regarding out-of-plane warp or twist, individual panels, doors, or parts are considered defective only if they exceed 1/4" of deviation. Panels or doors with either dimension greater than 42" are exempt from this tolerance, as slight deviation is expected due to material flexibility, curing & manufacturing processes, and the realities of scale. This definition applies only to surfaces and components intended to be visible after installation.
Surfaces that will become non-visible following installation, such as cabinet backs, cabinet sides, box interiors, and undersides or tops of cabinets, are not held to the same definition or aesthetic standard, provided any imperfections do not impact structural integrity or functionality. For example, chips, scratches, staple holes and similar blemishes on these non-visible areas are not considered damage. The final installed configuration of the cabinetry should therefore be considered before any claim submission.
Minor cosmetic blemishes that do not affect function, such as hairline surface marks or natural grain and finish variations, may not qualify as damage.
Finish Considerations
At Palet, we take pride in delivering high-quality finishes, but customers should understand that painted and woodgrain finishes inherently involve natural variations and limitations. The following are not considered defects or damage and are excluded from warranty coverage or damage/defect claims.
Painted Finishes
Minor variations in colour and surface texture are normal due to batch-to-batch differences in paint and variations between materials. We cannot guarantee an exact colour match between orders or between sample finishes and the final product.
Slight deviations in colour — typically within 1–2% of Benjamin Moore colour chip samples or between batches — are unavoidable in made-to-order products and are not considered defects.
We maintain custom paint batches for 30 days from the time of production in case additional parts are required. After this period, paint batches are discarded, and any additional orders may not precisely match previous finishes.
As painted wood products naturally expand and contract with environmental changes, minor hairline cracks (also known as finish stress lines) may develop, particularly along joints or seams. This is a normal characteristic of painted cabinetry.
The inspection standard applied to our painted finishes aligns with industry norms: doors and panels are inspected at arm’s length under normal lighting conditions for visible defects. Small particles or tiny inclusions in the lacquered surface are inevitable and do not affect durability or the overall appearance in everyday use. Internal corners are held to a lower standard than exterior corners and flat door surfaces, and door backs are held to a lower standard due to their hidden nature.
Real Woodgrain Veneer Finishes
Wood is a natural material and each piece will display unique grain patterns, knots, and hue variations. These are inherent characteristics that contribute to the individuality of the product. Each batch of material (e.g., replacement parts) may exhibit noticeable differences in grain and tone, which must be expected when selecting this material.
Differences between samples and the final installed product, especially across different batches, are a normal result of natural variation and are not considered defects.
Over time, wood finishes may change due to exposure to light, temperature fluctuations, and humidity. These changes are a normal part of the aging process.
Customers are strongly encouraged to inspect cabinetry promptly upon delivery and prior to installation. Dissatisfaction with natural variations, minor cosmetic blemishes that do not affect function, or environmental aging of finishes will not qualify as defects or damage under the terms of this warranty.
